Russia condemns West’s attempts to hold tribunals over events in Ukraine — Kremlin
According to Dmitry Peskov, "it is very important to add to all of this information and data about those crimes committed by the [Kiev] regime since 2014 and to which we also, unfortunately, have not seen any decisive reaction by the so-called collective West.
MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. Tribunals to investigate Russia’s actions in Ukraine, proposed by a number of Western countries, won’t be legitimate, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Thursday.
"As for attempts to hold some sort of tribunals, they will have no legitimacy, won’t be accepted by us and will be condemned by us," the Kremlin official said.
He noted that Russian investigators "are conducting very intense and thorough work on documenting all crimes by the Kiev regime." "This work is being conducted on a daily, practically, hourly basis," Peskov stressed.
According to Putin’s press secretary, "it is very important to add to all of this information and data about those crimes committed by the [Kiev] regime since 2014 and to which we also, unfortunately, have not seen any decisive reaction by the so-called collective West."
Earlier, the European Commission proposed to create a fund using €300 bln of the Russian Central Bank’s frozen reserves and €19 bln of frozen private funds in order to invest these assets at the EU’s discretion and use the profits for compensation to Ukraine. In order to legalize the expropriation of Russian assets, the European Commission proposed to create an international anti-Russian court with the UN’s support.
Earlier, the Ukrainian side called to create a special tribunal on the events in the country since February 2014 which Kiev perceives as Russian "aggression."
