Russia’s UN envoy places responsibility for events in Rukban, Al-Hol camps on US
"We are calling on Washington, instead of calls for compliance with the norms of international humanitarian law, to take concrete measures to bring US occupying forces in Syria in compliance with them," Vasily Nebenzya said
UNITED NATIONS, November 29. /TASS/. Russia is calling on the US to take concrete steps to bring US occupying forces in Syria in compliance with international humanitarian law, Russia’s UN envoy Vasily Nebenzya said at a UN Security Council meeting on Tuesday.
"The refugee camps of Rukban and Al-Hol remain hotbeds of terrorism and illicit activities. In the latter of them, attacks on residents have become a cruel everyday routine," he said. "The recent incident with the beheading of two girls is downright shocking. The responsibility for all that’s happening in these camps lies utterly and completely with the country that is occupying the area east of the Euphrates River and Al-Tanf."
"We are calling on Washington, instead of calls for compliance with the norms of international humanitarian law, to take concrete measures to bring US occupying forces in Syria in compliance with them," Nebenzya said.
