Putin discusses work of Russian delegations to G20, APEC with Russian Security Council

Russian Security Council also discussed Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Naryshnkin meeting with his US counterpart William Burns in Ankara

NOVO-OGARYOVO, November 25. /TASS/. Results of the work of Russian delegations to the Group of Twenty and APEC summits, as wells the outcome of Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Naryshkin’s talks with CIA Director William Burns were among the topics discussed by Russian President Vladimir Putin with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council on Friday.

"We will speak with you today about the results of the work of Russian delegations to the G20 and APEC summits, as well as about Sergey Naryshnkin’s meeting with his US counterpart in Ankara," Putin said opening the offline meeting.

He also suggested they exchange information on the current situation. "We have something to speak about. I have recently visited Armenia, where a CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization - TASS) was held. Both at multilateral and bilateral meetings with the Armenian leaders, there were several issues, which required collective discussion," he said.

The Russian and US intelligence chiefs met at the headquarters of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization in Ankara on November 14.

The Groups of Twenty summit was held in Indonesia’s Bali on November 15-16. The Russian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The summit focused on issues of food and energy security, digital transformation and problems of the healthcare sector.

The APEC summit involving delegations from 21 countries took place in Bangkok on November 18-19. The Russian delegation was led by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov.
