MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces destroyed 11 HIMARS and Uragan rockets and three unmanned aerial vehicles in the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Wednesday.

"In the past 24 hours, air defense capabilities destroyed three unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the communities of Raiskoye in the Kherson Region, Petrovskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Krasnorechenskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.

"In addition, they intercepted 11 rockets of HIMARS and Uragan multiple launch rocket systems in the areas of the settlements of Kalanchak and Novonikolayevka in the Kherson Region," the general said.

The Russian Aerospace Forces foiled the attempts by three Ukrainian company units to advance in the Kupyansk area in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Konashenkov reported.

"In the Kupyansk direction, the strikes by army aviation aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces thwarted the attempts by three company tactical groups of the Ukrainian army’s 14th and 92nd mechanized brigades to advance towards the settlements of Berestovoye and Kolesnikovka in the Kharkov Region and Novosyolovskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.

Russian troops destroyed Ukrainian manpower and military equipment during the combat, the general said.

"Over 80 Ukrainian troops, six tanks, eight combat armored vehicles, two armored vehicles and three self-propelled artillery systems were destroyed," Konashenkov reported.

Russian forces repelled two Ukrainian army attacks in the Krasny Liman area, eliminating over 100 militants in the past day, Konashenkov reported.

"In the Krasny Liman direction, artillery fire and active operations of Russian troop units thwarted two attempts by Ukrainian company tactical groups in the past 24 hours to attack Russian positions in the area of the community of Kolomiychikha in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.

As a result of the combat engagement, the Ukrainian military lost over 100 troops killed and wounded, two tanks and four combat armored vehicles, the general specified.

Russian forces thwarted an attack by a Ukrainian battalion tactical group in the Donetsk People’s Republic and pushed the enemy back, eliminating over 65 militants, Konashenkov reported.

"In the southern Donetsk direction, Russian forces thwarted an attempt by a Ukrainian battalion tactical group to advance towards the settlement of Stepnoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. As a result of damage inflicted by firepower, the enemy was pushed back to initial positions," the spokesman said.

During the combat engagement, Russian troops eliminated enemy manpower and military equipment, the general said.

"Over 65 Ukrainian troops and mercenaries, 2 infantry fighting vehicles, five armored and 3 motor vehicles were destroyed," Konashenkov reported.

The Ukrainian military attempted counter-attacks to halt the Russian troop advance in the Donetsk area but was scattered by artillery fire, the spokesman said.

"In the Donetsk direction, the Ukrainian military conducted counter-attacks in the areas of the settlements of Kurdyumovka, Avdeyevka, Staromikhailovka and Georgiyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic in an attempt to halt the advance of Russian troops. The enemy was halted and scattered by artillery strikes and decisive actions by assault groups," the spokesman said.

During the combat, Russian forces eliminated over 160 Ukrainian soldiers, three tanks, five combat armored vehicles, a pickup truck and two ammunition vehicles, the general specified.

Russian combat aircraft, missile troops and artillery wiped out seven Ukrainian army command posts in the past day, Konashenkov reported.

"In the past 24 hours, operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops wiped out seven Ukrainian army command posts in the areas of the settlements of Krakhmalnoye and Berestovoye in the Kharkov Region, Stelmakhovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Sadovoye, Tyaginka and Zmiyevka in the Kherson Region and Kirovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and also 94 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 185 areas," the spokesman said.

Russian forces delivered strikes by long-range precision weapons, wiping out Ukrainian military command and energy sites in the past day, Konashenkov reported.

"On November 15, Russian forces delivered a massive strike by long-range air-and sea-based precision weapons against the Ukrainian military command system and the associated energy infrastructure," the spokesman said.

The goals of the massive strike were achieved, the general stressed.

The Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Zaporozhye Region in the past day, Konashenkov reported.

"Operational-tactical aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force near the community of Novosyolovka in the Zaporozhye Region," the spokesman said.

Russian troops obliterated two US-made M777 howitzers in the Kharkov Region, a Ukrainian Akatsiya artillery system in the Kherson Region and a Grad multiple rocket launcher in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Konashenkov reported.

"In counter-battery fire, two US-made M777 artillery systems were destroyed in the area of the settlement of Kolesnikovka in the Kharkov Region. In addition, a Ukrainian Akatsiya self-propelled artillery gun was destroyed near the community of Mylovoye in the Kherson Region and a Ukrainian Grad multiple rocket launcher was obliterated near the settlement of Artyomovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.

Russian forces destroyed a US-made AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar in the Lugansk People’s Republic in the past day, Konashenkov reported.

"In the area of the settlement of Novoyegorovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, an AN/TPQ-50 counter-battery radar of US manufacture was obliterated," the spokesman said.

In addition, Russian forces obliterated a Ukrainian army ammunition depot near the community of Orekhov in the Zaporozhye Region, the general added.

In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 333 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 177 helicopters, 2,514 unmanned aerial vehicles, 388 surface-to-air missile systems, 6,644 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 892 multiple rocket launchers, 3,587 field artillery guns and mortars and 7,240 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
