Medvedev drops hint questioning US midterms’ transparency
The United States is holding its midterm congressional elections on November 8 to elect all members of the House of Representatives and one-third of the Senate
MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. Election manipulations are possible during the US midterm elections, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and Chairman of the United Russia party Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday.
"You said that election campaigns usually boil down to manipulating votes," he said, responding to a remark by Governor Valery Limarenko of the Sakhalin Region. "However, I hope you weren’t talking about our party," he added.
Medvedev explained that this comment was applicable "to some cases in our country’s history." "Such things certainly exist in other countries, we’ll see how today’s US congressional elections will end. But it’s not about us," the United Russia chairman stressed.
