Russian diplomat accuses US of attempts to buy off Central Asian countries
"Together with their British sidekicks, the Americans are fully facilitating the strengthening of the positions and destructive potential of the Afghan wing of the IS, which is seen as an instrument of pressure on neighboring Central Asian states, in order to separate them from Russia," Zamir Kabulov pointed out
MOSCOW, November 2./TASS/. The US is trying to buy the loyalty of Central Asian countries in order to separate them from Russia, Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Second Asia Department Zamir Kabulov said in an article published by the Nezavisimaya Gazeta newspaper on Wednesday.
"Together with their British sidekicks, the Americans are fully facilitating the strengthening of the positions and destructive potential of the Afghan wing of the Islamic State (IS, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia), which is seen as an instrument of pressure on neighboring Central Asian states, in order to separate them from Russia," said Kabulov, who is also Presidential Envoy for Afghanistan.
"They are simply trying to buy the loyalty of the latter, for example, by promising various financial benefits, such as the ‘donation’ of US-NATO equipment which is already there, taken out by the fleeing servicemen of the collapsed republican regime," Kabulov stressed.
