Ukrainian forces open fire on Akhat Jami Mosque in Donetsk

DONETSK, October 28. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military shelled the Akhat Jamil Mosque in Donetsk on Friday, Mayor Alexey Kulemzin said.
"Reports are still coming about the consequences of shelling of the Kuibyshevsky district. The Akhat Jami congregational mosque has again come under shelling by the enemy," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Kulemzin attached photos showing that the fence of the mosque had been damaged in the shelling.
The mayor added that Donetsk was still under shelling. Reports about casualties and damage are being clarified.
In May, Chairman of the DPR’s Muslim Religious Administration Rashid Bragin said that Russian regions would help reconstruct the Akhat Jami Mosque and Mariupol’s Mosque named after Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and his wife Roksolana, which had been repeatedly shelled by the Ukrainian military.
