Putin to take part in CSTO emergency meeting via videoconference
An emergency meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council was initiated by Yerevan to discuss the situation on the border with Azerbaijan
MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will participate in an emergency meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) via videoconference on Friday, ahead of a trilateral summit with the Armenian prime minister and the Azerbaijani leader.
"Yes, that’s true. [Putin] will take part via videoconference," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on the president’s agenda to a TASS reporter.
Peskov also said the meeting on Friday would take place ahead of a trilateral summit later today with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. "Among other things, this [meeting] will be part of arrangements for a coming summit," the Russian presidential spokesman explained.
An emergency meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council was initiated by Yerevan to discuss the situation on the border with Azerbaijan. According to Armenian PM Pashinyan, his republic expects the CSTO to "give a clear political assessment of what is going on and adopt a road map to restore Armenia’s territorial integrity.".
