UNITED NATIONS, October 28. /TASS/. During Thursday’s session of the UN Security Council, held behind closed doors, Russia raised the issue of Kiev’s preparations to build a ‘dirty bomb,’ Russia’s envoy to the UN said.

"On the second meeting, which was private we discussed what was raised earlier. This is not secret," Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya told reporters on Thursday.

According to the Russian envoy, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi briefed UN Security Council members about the situation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Also, the Russian side raised the issue of "allegations that the Kiev regime might be preparing a dirty bomb [to be used] in Ukraine."

The envoy went on to say that the Russian delegation warned Grossi that Kiev has capabilities for building a dirty bomb not only at the two facilities that are to be inspected by IAEA experts soon.

He added that Western delegations were promoting their "usual narrative" that "this is a false flag operation by Russia."

"We said we would be happy to be mistaken, but we cannot simply ignore these allegations which are very serious and which may lead to very, very unfortunate consequences," Nebenzya said.
