Moscow won’t condone Chisinau’s anti-Russian remarks, vows diplomat
"We are watching with concern how the situation is developing in Moldova, which is historically close to us, where thousands of people continue protesting, dissatisfied with the policies of the country's leadership," Maria Zakharova said
MOLDOVA, October 27./TASS/. Russia has observed anti-Russian statements coming from Moldovan officials and it won’t let them pass without a reaction, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Thursday.
"We are watching with concern how the situation is developing in Moldova, which is historically close to us, where thousands of people continue protesting, dissatisfied with the policies of the country's leadership," the diplomat said.
"Regretfully, the above mentioned developments are accompanied by an escalation of anti-Russian rhetoric from the country’s officials, which, in principle, is already verging on outright Russophobia. It has even reached the point where some deputies from the Action and Solidarity ruling party are appealing to parliament that it recognize Russia, as they say, as a terrorist regime. Of course, we notice such anti-Russian statements and, obviously, they will not go unanswered," the diplomat stressed.
