Tally of injured people rises to six after explosion in Melitopol — police
Andrey Zhidkov said law enforcement agencies are working to identify the perpetrators
MOSCOW, October 25. /TASS/. The number of people that were injured in the explosion in Melitopol rose to six including a 12-year-old child, Andrey Zhidkov, the police chief of Melitopol and the surrounding district, said on Tuesday.
"An explosion near the building of the ZaMedia media company has rocked Melitopol today. A car rigged with an improvised explosive device blew up. As a result of criminal actions by Ukrainian Nazis, six civilians suffered, including a 12-year-old child. The actions of the Kiev regime were once again aimed against the civilian population," he said.
Zhidkov said law enforcement agencies are working to identify the perpetrators.
A car was blown up near a television center in Melitopol on Tuesday. Six people were injured including a child. The administration told TASS some of the media company’s employees also sustained light wounds and one of the was hospitalized. The shock wave from the explosion shattered windows and doors in the building, also damaging adjacent buildings and a car that was passing by. Alexander Malkevich, a member of the Russian Civic Chamber, said the force of the explosion reached the equivalent of 1.5 kg to 2 kg of TNT.
