MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/. Moscow won’t tell Washington how to start a dialogue with Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the Izvestia daily on Thursday.

When asked what could prompt a dialogue from Washington, Lavrov said: "I have no idea. Washington keeps going back and forth, just like [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky. However, we won’t speculate and give them any ideas."

"I don’t know what could serve as a serious indication but when we receive some kind of hint, we will be ready to consider it and decide whether it is serious or not," Lavrov pointed out.

The Russian top diplomat also noted that Moscow would not chase the West, particularly in terms of "any contact on any issue with our former Western partners."
