Putin arrives in Astana to meet with counterparts from CIS and other associations

ASTANA, October 13. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in the Kazakh capital of Astana on Thursday night. In the next two days, he will take part in three multilateral summits at once.
On Thursday, the capital of Kazakhstan hosts the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). The association involves countries that occupy about 90% of the territory of Asia and account for almost half of the world's population. At the moment, CICA unites 27 countries.
On October 14, Astana hosts a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, as well as a meeting in the "Russia - Central Asia" format.
Putin’s agenda in Astana also include bilateral meetings. In particular, he is expected to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday.
The last time the Russian President visited Kazakhstan was in May 2019. Then he took part in the summit of the Eurasian Economic Union.
