On Tuesday, Jens Stoltenberg said that Russia’s victory would be a "big defeat" for both Ukraine and the entire alliance

MOSCOW, October 11. /TASS/. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg’s statement Russia’s victory in Ukraine would be tantamount to NATO’s defeat in fact confirmed that the alliance is fighting on Ukraine’s side, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media.

"Yes, it can," Peskov replied when asked if Stoltenberg’s statement could be regarded as a confirmation of NATO’s participation in the conflict on Ukraine’s side.

Asked if Moscow would take any action, Peskov said that Russia "has been taking action since February 24."

On Tuesday, Stoltenberg said that Russia’s victory would be a "big defeat" for both Ukraine and the entire alliance, because it "would make the world a more dangerous place" and NATO countries "more vulnerable for further Russian aggression."

He also noted that the alliance would increase and maintain support for Ukraine, adding that NATO stood by Ukraine and "will stand with Ukraine as long as it takes." At the same time, Stoltenberg argued that NATO was not a party to the Ukrainian conflict, but the alliance's support for Kiev "is playing a key role."
