US should persuade Kiev to stop shelling Zaporozhye nuclear plant, Russian envoy says
According to Alexander Shulgin, a potential disaster at the Zaporozhye NPP will be far worse than the Chernobyl one
MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. Moscow has warned Washington of the need to influence Ukraine in order to end shelling attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and Ambassador to the Netherlands Alexander Shulgin told the Rossiya-24 TV channel on Monday.
"They (the Americans - TASS) know perfectly well who is shelling the Zaporozhye NPP and who is shelling chemical facilities. We have seriously warned the Americans and their allies of the need to talk some sense into them," he pointed out, commenting on the outcome of the 101st session of the OPCW Executive Council.
According to Shulgin, a potential disaster at the Zaporozhye NPP will be far worse than the Chernobyl one.
The Russian envoy noted that the US and its allies had put up "a political show" during the OPCW Executive Council’s session in a bid to demonstrate their support for Ukraine and put the blame on Russia.
