EU allows exceptions from Russian oil price cap regime — document

BRUSSELS, October 6. /TASS/. The European Union (EU) allowed exceptions from the Russian oil price cap regime if it is important for energy security of a specific EU member-state, according to the document on the eighth package of sanctions posted on Thursday in the Official Journal of the EU.
"The price cap would not affect in any way the exceptions allowing certain Member States to continue importing crude oil and petroleum products from Russia due to their specific situation or to import seaborne crude oil from Russia if the supply of crude oil by pipeline from Russia is interrupted for reasons outside their control," the document reads.
"Specific projects which are essential for the energy security of certain third countries may be exempted from the price cap," according to the document.
