Kiev prepares provocation with flooding of Zaporozhye NPP — Rogov
According to Vladimir Rogov, the SBU requested information on water discharge drills from the former Zaporozhye NPP CEO Igor Murashov
MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. Ukraine is gathering information about uncontrollable water discharges on hydroelectric dams in order to orchestrate a provocation with flooding of the Zaporozhye NPP, says Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the "We are Together with Russia" movement.
According to the official, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has been gather information about the nuclear power plant’s capabilities in case of uncontrollable water discharge on an entire cascade of hydroelectric dams, including Kremenchug, Srednedneprovskaya and Dnieper hydroelectric dams.
"This suggests that they prepare provocations involving either a collapse of the Dnieper dam or opening of the gate," Rogov said. "Their main goal is to flood the Zaporozhye NPP."
According to Rogov, the SBU requested information on water discharge drills from the former Zaporozhye NPP CEO Igor Murashov.
"The SBU seeks to obtain this information however possible They requested information on drills that model such situation [water discharge - TASS] from Soviet archives still present at the nuclear power plant, they requested it from the now ex-CEO Murashov," Rogov said, adding that the SBU works under orders from the British intelligence.
According to the official, the SBU has already modelled a situation, in which "the coastal area of Zaporozhye will be flooded with a huge, at least 20-meter-high wave, which will travel at over 17 m/s, or over 60 km/h." At least four city districts will be damaged, with hundreds of thousands of people in the danger area.
"There is high probability of not mere flooding, but human casualties. The Zaporozhye NPP area territory will be flooded and unsuitable for restoration, relaunch and generation of power," Rogov said, adding that, in case of collapse of all three dams, water will reach the NPP in about five hours.
Earlier on Wednesday, Rogov said that the Dnieper hydroelectric dam and five bridges over Dnieper in the city of Zaporozhye have been rigged with explosives by Ukrainian forces since March.
