MOSCOW, September 3. /TASS/. Mikhail Gorbachev, the first and the only president of the Soviet Union, has been buried in the Novodevichye Cemetery, with honor guard members participating in the funeral, a TASS correspondent has reported from the scene.

Gorbachev was laid to rest in the family burial place next to his wife Raisa.
