Forest fire started near Zaporozhye nuke plant — authorities

MELITOPOL, August 26. /TASS/. A forest fire has started in the area of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the region’s military-civilian administration, said on Friday on his Telegram channel.
"Forests are burning in the area of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Today, Energodar, Melitopol and Kherson were left without power supply for several hours. This was caused by the disruption of power supply from the Zaporozhye NPP as a result of provocations by [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky's militants. The disruption, in turn, was provoked by a fire and a short circuit on power lines," the message said.
Satellite images showing smoke in the area near the plant were attached to the post.
The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, located in the city of Energodar, is under Russian troops’ control. Recently, Ukrainian forces have carried out several strikes on the territory of the plant, using drones, heavy artillery, and multiple rocket launchers. In most cases, the attacks are repelled by air defense systems, but shells have already hit infrastructure, and the nuclear waste storage facility area.
