State Duma Council demands to stop shipment of weapons to Ukraine — statement

MOSCOW, August 25. /TASS/. The Russian State Duma council demands to stop shipment of weapons to Ukraine, which the Kiev regime uses to create a risk of a nuclear catastrophe, according to the Council statement regarding Ukrainian shelling of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, which will be sent to the UN and the IAEA.
"The State Duma Council demands to stop shipment of weapons to Ukraine, which the antipopular Kiev regime uses to kill and main people, and to create a risk of a nuclear threat," says the document, published on the State Duma website.
According to the State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, the statement was supported by all Duma factions.
"According to the Defense Ministry, in the 24 hours alone, Ukraine shelled the Zaporozhye NPP area seven times. So the issue is extremely important. Our task committees, led by the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Committee on Energy, and the Committee on CIS affairs, have prepared a statement," Volodin said, according to the State Duma website.
Earlier, the Communist Party faction leader Gennady Zyuganov proposed to review issues of security of the Zaporozhye NPP and the need of consolidation of society in support of the special military operation in Ukraine during an emergency meeting of the State Duma council.
