Lavrov to discuss normalization between Baku and Yerevan with Azeri counterpart

According to the Russian foreign minister, Russia is ready to provide its consulting services in effort towards the delimitation and demarcation of the border between the two Caucasus countries

BAKU, June 24. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will discuss normalization between Baku and Yerevan at a meeting on Friday with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bairamov.

Russia’s top diplomat arrived in Baku from Tehran on Thursday and met with Azerbaijan’s leader Ilham Aliyev later last evening. At the meeting, Lavrov said Russia was ready to contribute to normalization talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan upon consent of the two sides.

Moscow is also ready to provide its consulting services in effort towards the delimitation and demarcation of the border between the two Caucasus countries, Lavrov added.

The two foreign ministers will also discuss in detail the implementation of agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh reached between Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in 2020 and 2021.
