The national leaders are expected to discuss the current state and perspectives of comprehensive cooperation within the association
RIO DE JANEIRO, June 23. /TASS/. BRICS member states (Brazil, Russia, India, China nad South Africa), together with other developing countries made the decisive contribution to restoration of the global economy after the 2007-2008 financial crisis, President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro said Thursday.
"BRICS emerged amid one of the most difficult crisis in history. In those circumstances, the power of economies of developing countries played the decisive role for restoration of the global economy," the Brazilian leader noted.
According to Bolsonaro, the association itself has become a "factor of stability and prosperity in the international situation." In this regard, he believes, "BRICS must contribute to creating jobs and sources of income for our citizens."
Leaders of BRICS member states (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) gathered Thursday for the 14th BRICS summit to synchronize their watches and agree on the future of the association. The event, which takes place via video conference under China’s presidency, is attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
