Russia’s envoy to UK banned from parliament’s building, Guardian reports
The ban has been in force informally since late February, when Russia began its special military operation in Ukraine
LONDON, June 20. /TASS/. Russia’s Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin and other Russian diplomats in London are to be banned from the Parliament’s estate, the Guardian reported on Monday citing a message sent by two senior parliamentarians.
"As the formally accredited representative of the Russian government, the ambassador will not be welcomed onto the parliamentary estate until further notice," the British newspaper quoted the note from Sir Lindsay Hoyle, speaker of the House of Commons, and Lord Speaker of the House of Lords John McFall, as reading.
The ban has been in force informally since late February, when Russia began its special military operation in Ukraine, the paper said.
The Russian embassy to the UK did not immediately respond to TASS’s request for comment.
