Russian Guardsmen repulse enemy subversive group’s attack in Kharkov Region
Some members of the enemy subversive/scout group were wounded as evidenced by bloodstained bandages and spent first aid dressing packages
MOSCOW, June 17. /TASS/. The Russian Guard’s personnel repulsed an attack by an enemy subversive/reconnaissance group in the Kharkov Region in eastern Ukraine, the Guard’s press office told TASS on Friday.
"When carrying out reconnaissance/search operations in a forest belt area near a populated area in the Kharkov Region, the Russian Guard’s forces detected an enemy subversive/scout group," the statement says.
In a gunfight that followed, the Ukrainian militants abandoned their positions and fled. The Russian Guardsmen delivered a mortar strike on the retreating enemy, the press office said.
"Some members of the enemy subversive/scout group were wounded as evidenced by bloodstained bandages and spent first aid dressing packages. When inspecting the scene of the battle, the Russian Guardsmen uncovered a camouflaged sniper position with a US Barrett M82 large-caliber sniper rifle and rounds. The Russian Guard’s commandos also seized small arms and foreign-made hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers," the press office reported.
