Russia facing challenging situation "but good has come out of evil," says Kremlin
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov also noted that the role of reserve currencies was inevitably weakening
MOSCOW, June 14. /TASS/. Russia is currently facing a challenging situation, though it is pushing the country to searching for new ways of cooperating with friendly countries, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with TASS prior to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"The situation is not easy, more likely it can be characterized as difficult in terms of this unprecedented economic war [due to sanctions imposed by western states against Moscow]. But good has come out of evil. This situation is pushing us and friendly countries to searching for new ways of cooperation, new mechanisms of cooperation, new mechanisms of financial settlement payments," he said.
"The role of reserve currencies, the role of the dollar, the role of the euro is inevitably weakening, legal, financial systems are losing credibility among many countries," Peskov explained.
