US public split on Ukraine, grows critical of administration’s policies — Duma speaker

As Vyacheslav Volodin notes, many Americans become increasingly critical of Washington’s policies in Ukraine

MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. The United States is divided on the Ukraine conflict, Americans have become more critical of Washington’s policies in the region, the speaker of the State Duma lower house of parliament said Wednesday.

"Despite propaganda and campaign to shape public opinion against Russia, American society is divided, and many Americans become increasingly critical of Washington’s policies in Ukraine," Vyacheslav Volodin said in a post on his Telegram channel.

Commenting on Ukraine’s blacklisting ex-Secretary of State Henry Kissinger for warning against pursuing war against Russia, Volodin said politicians are not divided into young and old.

"Politicians are not divided into young and old. They are either experienced and responsible or inexperienced and irresponsible. [US President Joe] Biden and [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky belong to different age groups, but they both obviously lack experience and responsibility," Volodin stressed.

Kissinger has never been a friend to Russia, he "had worked hard to weaken and break up the Soviet Union", yet being experienced and knowledgeable, he talks more sensibly and pragmatically than modern politicians in the US and Europe, said Volodin.
