Events in Ukraine a result of distortion of history — Presidential aide

According to Vladimir Medinsky, there is brainwashing with alternative history, where Russia is not a brother but an enemy

TULA, May 27. /TASS/. The events in Ukraine are a result of distortion of history, Russian Presidential Aide, Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society Vladimir Medinsky said Friday.

"We cannot leave unmentioned the events in Ukraine that concern every one of us very much - we see the fruits of their ‘historic enlightenment.’ We see brainwashing with alternative history, where Russia is not a brother but an enemy, which has been going on for generations," he said at a meeting of the Society’s regional leaders.

DPR Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Antonov added that the Donbass Institute of history studies is examining history and literature textbooks that were used in school on liberated DPR territories.

"We all know that textbooks that were used in Ukrainian educational standards are radically different from those used in Russia," Antonov said.
