Kremlin slams as outrageous Polish PM’s remark about Russian World

On May 11, Mateusz Morawiecki said that the ideology of the Russian World was "a cancer" posing a threat to the whole of Europe

MOSCOW, May 13. /TASS/. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has slammed as outrageous and unacceptable Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Marowiecki’s statement to the effect Russky Mir (Russian World) was "a cancer".

"It was an utterly outrageous statement, extremist and unacceptable," Peskov told the media on Friday, when asked for a comment on Marowiecki’s remark.

"It was the quintessence of hatred towards Russians, which has affected like a metastasis Poland’s politics, the Polish leadership and, in fact, to our regret, a large share of Polish society," Peskov said.

On May 11, Morawiecki said in an article for Britain’s The Daily Telegraph that the ideology of the Russian World was "a cancer" posing a threat to the whole of Europe. He urged the Western countries to step up support for Ukraine in order to "root out" what he described as the Russian leadership’s "monstrous ideology.".
