Russia has explained many times what must precede Putin-Zelensky meeting — Kremlin

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Moscow has explained many times what must precede a hypothetical meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Wednesday.
About Israel’s readiness to host a Putin-Zelensky meeting, expressed by the Israeli ambassador to Moscow, Alexander Ben Zvi, Peskov said that the Israeli side "has signaled its readiness more than once to play host to such a meeting."
"We have explained many times what must precede such a hypothetical meeting," Peskov said, when asked if this issue had been discussed by Putin and Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennet.
Earlier, Peskov said that Putin had never rejected the idea of a meeting with Zelensky in principle, but the text of a document on Ukraine must be prepared first.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24 launched a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for help from the leaders of the two Donbass republics. Moscow demands Ukraine’s demilitarization and denazification, its neutral and non-aligned status, and the recognition of Russia’s sovereignty over Crimea and the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics.
