Russian lawmaker calls on US, UK to stop supplying weapons to Ukraine
According to Leonid Slutsky, "the Kiev regime’s Western patrons seek to continue to use Ukraine" as a tool in confrontation with Russia
MOSCOOW. April 17. /TASS/. A senior Russian lawmaker has called on the United States and the United Kingdom to recognize their responsibility to the unfolding global crisis and stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.
"It is high time the United States and the United Kingdom recognize their responsibility for the unfolding global crisis stemming from their reckless policy in Ukraine and it is high time they stop supplying "grenades to the Kiev Zoo." Because the consequences may be quite deplorable fro the entire world," Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the international committee of the Russian State Duma (lower parliament house), wrote on his Telegram channel commenting on UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s statement that London plans to supply more weapons to Ukraine.
According to Slutsky, "the Kiev regime’s Western patrons seek to continue to use Ukraine" as a tool in confrontation with Russia.
"Moscow has warned that the irresponsible approach to global security may entail unpredictable consequences. If they fail to see it, then, as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has noted, any cargoes with weapons for Ukraine will be legitimate goals for the Russian armed forces during the special operation on the demilitarization of the Kiev regime. This is what is already taking place, as a matter of fact," Slutsky noted.
