Putin, Belarusian president arrive at Vostochny spaceport
The two leaders will inspect the spaceport’s construction sites
VOSTOCHNY SPACEPORT, April 12. /TASS/. Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus have arrived at the Vostochny spaceport from the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk on Tuesday, which marks Cosmonautics Day.
The two leaders will first inspect the spaceport’s construction sites. They will particularly visit the sites, where a command post and the launch facility of a launch pad for Angara carrier rockets are being built. After that, Putin will present state awards to pilot cosmonauts and meet with the spaceport’s employees together with Lukashenko.
The two presidents are expected to hold talks later in the day and address a joint press conference.
Later, in Blagoveshchensk, the Russian president will hold working meetings with Roscosmos State Space Agency Director General Dmitry Rogozin and Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov.
