18 agreements made in Kuril Islands as part of new regime — Russian PM
It is noted that "unprecedented tax incentivization measures were taken" as part of the preferential regime
MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Eighteen agreements worth 20 bln rubles ($249.6 mln) were concluded in the Kuril Islands, where preferential conditions are in place, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said in the State Duma on Thursday.
"We already have eighteen agreements on the Kuril Islands amounting to 20 bln rubles. This is just the start. Therefore, no doubt, we will incentivize development of this beautiful area in all aspects and will be grateful to all proposals," he said.
"Unprecedented tax incentivization measures were taken" as part of the preferential regime, Mishustin noted. "We have never taken such [measures] before; entire types of taxes are simply canceled there and I strongly believe this will attract our investors," he added.
The preferential tax regime for companies running projects in the Kuril Islands came into force in early March.
