Putin congratulates Lukashenko with Day of Unity of Russia and Belarus — Kremlin
The Russian president noted that the implementation of the achieved agreements will create conditions for reinforcement of both countries’ positions on the international arena
MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko with the Day of Unity of the peoples of both countries and noted that the implementation of the achieved agreements will create conditions for reinforcement of both countries’ positions on the international arena.
"Lately, our countries were able to do a lot to develop the international interaction and constructive bilateral cooperation. A number of important documents were approved, including union industry programs, the renewed military doctrine and the Union State migration policy concept," Putin said in his congratulation telegram, according to Kremlin press office.
Putin expressed his certainty that implementation of the achieved agreements will create conditions for reinforcement of Russia’s and Belarus’ positions on the international arena, as well as for further progress on the path of establishment of a single social, economic and humanitarian space.
"This, undoubtedly, fits out brotherly peoples’ base interests and it is truly important, considering the tense international situation," Putin concluded.
April 2 marks the Day of Unity of the peoples, dedicated to the anniversary of signing of the 1996 Treaty on creation of the Commonwealth of Russia and Belarus (currently Union State of Russia and Belarus).
