Alexander Novak noted that reorienting flows was a fairly serious challenge and it would take time

MOSCOW, March 23. /TASS/. Russia is working out options of redirecting energy supplies to the East if the need arises, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Wednesday.

"Our supplies are diversified globally. Definitely, Europe and Asia are the lion’s share but deliveries are also made to countries of the Middle East and Latin America," Novak said. "We are speaking with our Asian partners regarding the possibility of extra supplies to Asian market if such a need arises," the official said, expressing hope that Russian feedstock will have enough room on Asia-Pacific markets.

"I would like to note actually that reorienting flows is a fairly serious challenge. Although markets are huge, they are rather balanced. If certain redirection of resources from one destination to another takes place, this entails a change in logistical chains, in systems of settlements. This cannot be done in one day," Novak added.
