Russian army downs 11 Ukrainian helicopters, drones in past 24 hours — Defense Ministry

Since the start of the operation, a total of 3,213 Ukrainian military infrastructure facilities were disabled

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Russia’s aircraft and air defense forces downed three Ukrainian Mil Mi-25 helicopters and eight unmanned aerial vehicles, including five Bayraktar TB-2 drones, in the past 24 hours, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said on Friday.

"Combat aircraft and air defense forces downed three Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopters and eight unmanned aerial vehicles in the past 24 hours, including five Bayraktar TB-2 drones," he said.

According to the general, Russian aircraft destroyed 107 Ukrainian military facilities in the past 24 hours, including six command posts and communication centers, 14 ammunition and fuel depots and 11 military equipment storage sites.

"Since the start of the operation, a total of 3,213 Ukrainian military infrastructure facilities were disabled. As many as 98 aircraft, 118 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1,041 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 113 multiple rocket launchers, 389 field artillery pieces and mortars, 843 military motor vehicles were destroyed," Konashenkov pointed out.

The Russian Armed Forces crippled two Ukrainian airfields with high-precision weapons, the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman noted. "On the morning of March 11, [the Russian Armed Forces] disabled the Ukrainian military facilities with long-range high-precision weapons. Military airfields in Lutsk and Ivano-Frankovsk have been incapacitated," Konashenkov added.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation based on a request from the heads of the Donbass republics. The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans to occupy Ukrainian territories and the goal was to demilitarize and denazify the country. Russia’s Defense Ministry stressed that the Russian Armed Forces were not delivering strikes against Ukrainian cities. The ministry emphasized that the Ukrainian military infrastructure was being destroyed by precision weapons and there was no threat to civilians.
