Although the session's official topic was Syria’s chemical dossier, the Western delegations began to criticize Russia’s special operation in Ukraine

UNITED NATIONS, March 10. /TASS/. Russia’s deputy ambassador to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, has drawn the world community’s attention to faked photos allegedly showing patients from a hospital in Mariupol. The incident occurred at Thursday’s meeting of the UN Security Council. Although the session's official topic was Syria’s chemical dossier, the Western delegations began to criticize Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, in particular, what they said was a strike against a maternity hospital in Mariupol.

"People in Mariupol, still being held hostage as a human shield by the Azov detachment’s militants, have examined the photographs that have appeared on the Internet to identify the female model, who impersonates three different pregnant women. In these photographs she appears in different disguises and different makeup," Polyansky said. This woman’s name is Marianna Podurgskaya. She can be easily recognized in other snapshots authored by the same photographer - Yevgeny Maloletka, who is notorious for selling faked photos. He is a contributor whose services are known to have been used by the Associated Press, the New York Times and other media.
