Kremlin has no established view on nationalizing firms that left Russian market
Dmitry Peskov refrained from answering whether the government was discussing this idea, noting that "everything being discussed was being addressed there"
MOSCOW, March 9. /TASS/. The Kremlin has not established position on the lawmakers’ proposals relating to the nationalization of foreign enterprises that left the Russian market, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
"I cannot say anything, the position on this issue has not been established yet," the Kremlin spokesman noted, commenting on the deputies’ initiative on nationalization.
"All kinds of scenarios are just being considered and hammered out on an emergency basis," Peskov stated. He refrained from answering whether the government was discussing this idea, noting that "everything being discussed was being addressed there."
On March 7, Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia ruling party Andrey Turchak stated that the decision of some Western companies to close their business in Russia was a premeditated bankruptcy, and the United Russia party proposed to nationalize their production.
