Ukrainian delegation promises to bring its position to new round of talks — Lavrov
The top diplomat stressed that the Ukrainian delegation knew Russia's negotiating position
MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. The Ukrainian delegation promised to bring its position to the new round of negotiations, Russia already has its position, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Russian and foreign media on Thursday.
"I will remind you once again, somehow here it always happens that I try to explain things, and then again I am asked questions as if they [journalists] have not heard my answers. We are ready for negotiations," Lavrov said in response to an additional question from a British journalist, "Our Ukrainian colleagues know our negotiating position. They have promised to bring their negotiating position to this round of talks."
He noted that when Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky asked for negotiations, his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin immediately agreed and sent a delegation. "Then President Zelensky changed his mind, the Americans probably told him not to hurry," Lavrov believes. Then the Ukrainian side decided to come to the negotiations but came not on the agreed day, but a day later, Russia waited and the negotiations took place.
