SOCHI, October 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that a summit meeting of the UN Security Council’s quintet will materialize at last.
"The very idea [of a summit meeting of the UN Security Council’s five permanent members] was received rather positively. I do hope that it may materialize someday. It will certainly do good," Putin said in reply to a question from historian Alexey Miller.
He added that the idea was being discussed with the US, Chinese and French partners.
"France’s President Emmanuel Macron welcomed it at once," he said.
