NATO has not contacted Russia via official channels to ask for dialogue — Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. Moscow has received no messages from NATO via official channels with proposals for a dialogue, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told TASS on Thursday.
"No, [NATO officials] have not contacted Russia. We have received nothing through diplomatic channels either," Grushko said in reply to a corresponding question. "Instead, NATO prefers to use megaphone diplomacy. They say they regret our decision, is if it was a bolt from the blue, and not a result of their own outspokenly unfriendly moves."
Grushko stressed that "no conditions for continuing the dialogue are in place."
Earlier, NATO’s Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said that Moscow’s decision to pause the operation of NATO’s missions did not promote the dialogue, but the alliance was prepared to go ahead with it in the NATO-Russia Council.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday Russia was pausing the operation of its permanent mission to NATO starting from November after the alliance’s decision to revoke the accreditation of eight of the mission’s staffers. The activity of NATO’s Military Liaison Mission and Information Office in Moscow will be suspended.
