MOSCOW, September 16. /TASS/. The United States has invited Russia to the energy and climate summit that will be held on September 17 in a virtual format, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS, adding that the invitation is currently under consideration.

"Yes, Russia has been invited. Currently, the invitation is under consideration," he said.

The summit will be held by US President Joe Biden. The meeting will focus on speeding up efforts to tackle the global climate crisis. Global leaders are expected to participate in the summit.
