Moscow-led bloc says Mideast-North African crises endanger security of member states

The top diplomats emphasized the importance of establishing dialogue between all Middle Eastern and North African countries

DUSHANBE, September 15. /TASS/. Members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are concerned about the ongoing crises in the Middle East and North Africa, which are a source of threats to the security and stability of the bloc’s member states, the top diplomats of CSTO countries said in a statement on joint efforts to resolve the crisis situations in the Middle East and North Africa.

"The foreign ministers of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) countries express concern about the ongoing conflicts and crises in the Middle East and North Africa, which remain a source of challenges and threats to regional and international stability and security, including CSTO countries," the statement reads.

The top diplomats emphasized the importance of establishing dialogue between all Middle Eastern and North African countries "based on the principles of good-neighborliness, respect for their independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the need to resolve conflicts solely through political and diplomatic means in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.".
