Glorification of Nazi collaborators is routine practice in Estonia, says Russian diplomat

MOSCOW, August 3. /TASS/. Estonian lawmakers are indulging in glorification of Nazi collaborators, which has become a routine practice in that country, deputy director of the Russian foreign ministry’s information and press department, Alexander Bikantov, said in a statement on Tuesday.
The diplomat drew attention to the fact that "another gathering of the Estonian Waffen SS veterans and their followers" took place in Estonia’s Sinimae on July 31.
"Glorification of Nazi collaborators who voluntarily fought on the side of the Hitler regime for its interests has become a routine practice in the present-day Estonia. Especially disgusting is when representatives of the legitimate authorities — members of the Estonian parliament — take part in such demonstrations of love to Nazism," he said, adding that the Russian foreign ministry would like to hear from the European Union and international sectoral organizations their "principled opinion about facts of flouting the historic truth and the memory about the victims of the Hitler regime’s crimes in this Baltic country.".
