Russian three-color flag to remain over State Duma — Peskov about Zelensky's words
In this way, he commented on Ukrainian President's remark that he refused to consider Ukrainians and Russians as one people and claimed that otherwise the Ukrainian yellow-and-blue flag would be flying over the State Duma building instead
MOSCOW, July 1. /TASS/. Russia's three-color flag has been flying and will remain flying over the building of the State Duma, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
In this way, he commented in an interview granted to Russia's TV Channel One on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's remark that he refused to consider Ukrainians and Russians as one people and claimed that otherwise the Ukrainian yellow-and-blue flag would be flying over the State Duma building instead.
"The Russian three-color flag has been flying over the State Duma all along, and it will continue flying there in the future," Peskov said, when asked for a comment.
Also, he disagreed with Zelensky's statement that Russians and Ukrainians shared only part of a common history. "We share not a part of history, but common history in general," the Kremlin official said. He stressed that the fact that Russians and Ukrainians were one people was so obvious that it made no sense to discuss it further.
Peskov called to wait for President Vladimir Putin to publish his article on Ukrainian affairs.
"I believe that there will be a comprehensive evaluation," Peskov said.
