Russia not concerned about China’s growth because it seeks no global hegemony — Kremlin
Dmitry Peskov said that "Russia sees additional opportunities for bilateral relations in the fact that China is growing so rapidly"
MOSCOW, July 1. /TASS/. China’s growth does not trigger Russia’s concern, that can only worry those who seek global hegemony, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russia’s Channel One on Thursday.
"You rightly pointed out that, yes, America is concerned about China’s growth. But who can be concerned about China’s growth? Only one who seeks global hegemony," he said.
Peskov added that Russia did not seek that role, that is why it is not concerned and will not be concerned with China’s rapid development. "On the contrary, Russia sees additional opportunities for bilateral relations in the fact that China is growing so rapidly. This is very important," he stressed.
"We would like our neighbor — such a great neighbor — to be really stable, prosperous, fast-developing and friendly," the Kremlin spokesman concluded.
