Russia-US strategic stability talks to begin in July — Russian diplomat
According to Vassily Nebenzia, the sides are getting prepared for the negotiations
UNITED NATIONS, June 30. /TASS/. Russia and the United States are getting prepared for the beginning of strategic stability talks in July, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said on Wednesday.
"Talks on strategic stability will kick off in July. The sides are getting prepared for that," he said, adding that following the Geneva summit Russia observes the American sides’ attempts to impose new conditions for cooperation on issues of bilateral relations. "We are ready to cooperate but on the condition of advancing conditions," he noted.
A Russian-US summit took place in the Swiss capital city of Geneva on June 16. The initiative came from Washington. Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Joe Biden of the United States discussed the current state of and prospects for further development of bilateral relations, issues of strategic stability, international matters, including cooperation in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and ironing out regional conflicts. The leaders also announced that the ambassadors would return to Moscow and Washington in the near future.
