Actions of Russian regional authorities aim to prevent lockdown — Putin

The President mentioned mandatory vaccination for certain categories of citizens as an example

MOSCOW, June 30. /TASS/. Actions taken by the authorities in a number of Russian regions aim to prevent a lockdown over the spread of the coronavirus infection, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the Direct Line Wednesday.

"The actions of our colleagues in certain ten regions are aimed to prevent the necessity to introduce a lockdown, when entire enterprises shut down, people lose their jobs and salaries, when small and medium businesses disappear, when income of the population decreases," the head of state said.

Putin noted that some regions introduce measures, such as mandatory vaccination for certain categories of citizens, in order to prevent a lockdown.
