Lavrov hails strategic partnership and cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan

NUR-SULTAN, June 23. /TASS/. Russia and Kazakhstan have strategic partnership and cooperation relations, which are based on the traditions of friendship and mutual respect, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in his welcoming speech to the participants of the 9th Expo-Russia Kazakhstan 2021 industrial exhibition, held in Almaty.

"Russia and Kazakhstan are united by relations of strategic partnership and cooperation based on the traditions of friendship, mutual respect and trust. Close interstate cooperation in terms of integration multilateral structures, primarily the Eurasian Economic Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Commonwealth of Independent States, contributes to enhancing brotherly ties between our peoples," Russia’s Consul General in Almaty Yevgeny Bobrov read out Lavrov's welcoming speech on Wednesday. The event was broadcast on the exhibition’s website.

According to Russia’s top diplomat, nowadays, it is crucial to ensure the further development and diversification of bilateral trade and trade and economic cooperation, improve the structure and quality of trade turnover and contribute to the development of favorable conditions for the companies’ activities from both countries.

Lavrov noted that congresses and exhibitions made a significant contribution to these efforts. "Over the past years, they have proved themselves as an effective platform for demonstrating achievements, sharing experience, establishing mutually beneficial contacts," he stressed. The top diplomat also expressed hope that the exhibition program’s implementation would allow its participants to come up with new joint initiatives and projects in terms of improving the welfare of Russia and Kazakhstan’s citizens.

The 9th Expo-Russia Kazakhstan 2021 international industrial exhibition will be held from June 23 to 25 in Almaty. During the exhibition, the Almaty Business Forum ‘Mutual Trade within the EAEU: New Challenges and Ways to Overcome Trade Barriers’ will also take place.
