Sources of information are many, but content is not always trustworthy, says Putin

He stressed that teachers were faced with far stronger competition, because "sources of information are many"

NOVO-OGARYOVO, February 2. /TASS/. Sources of information offering bright presentation and skillful promotion are many, but the content is not always trustworthy, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a video conference with the laureates of the contest Teacher of the Year on Tuesday.

He stressed that teachers were faced with far stronger competition, because "sources of information are many."

"Two what extent they (sources of information -TASS) are reliable and trustworthy is a different matter. But the mode of presentation, as a rule, is very bright and even talented," Putin said. "But this does not mean that the content is trustworthy. Those who try to advance this information do this very skillfully."

"In a situation like this to be able to compete effectively in the modern world with other sources of information the teacher has to be talented and bright," Putin said.

He spoke highly about schools’ efforts to launch various projects.

"In the modern world it will be possible to achieve great successes only while successfully working as a team," Putin said, adding that if such joint work is devoted to nature conservation, historical and any other extra-curricular activities, "it shapes the person" and makes one certain that while working together it will be possible to achieve success, including personal success.
