Russian, French diplomats discuss cultural cooperation, says Foreign Ministry

The ministry added that the parties had also exchanged views on the prospects for the Trianon Dialogue Russian-French Civil Society Forum

MOSCOW, January 29. /TASS/. A Russian-French commission, chaired by Russian Special Presidential Envoy for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoi and Director General for Globalization, Culture, Education and International Development at the French Foreign Ministry Michel Miraillet, has held a video conference meeting on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"The meeting’s participants discussed various aspects of bilateral humanitarian cooperation, including cultural and art exchanges, cooperation in the field of school and higher education, youth exchanges and the situations of the Russian language in France and the French language in Russia," the statement reads.

The ministry added that the parties had also exchanged views on the prospects for the Trianon Dialogue Russian-French Civil Society Forum.

"The parties paid special attention to the cultural and educational aspects of the Russia-France Bilateral Year of Regional Cooperation, set to take place in 2021-2022," the statement added.

The meeting involved Russian Ambassador to France Alexei Meshkov and French Ambassador to Russia Pierre Levy, as well as officials from Russian and French ministries and state agencies and Trianon Dialogue members.
